Approval is always nice
Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 05:09PM So we have a bunch of things in the works over here at Beefcannon.
One of them is a project that, while yet to be named, will take place mostly in space. So I began thinking of what games would be best for this. I ended up landing on Natural Selection 2 for a few reasons.
First of all, it just looks amazing. It's got really gorgeous graphics, lighting, and all sorts of things that already reek of cinematic qualiy!
Secondly, and probably most important of all, the team over at Unknown Worlds has created a set of tools specifically for moviemaking. As most machinima creators will understand, most games don't come with any tools for moviemaking. Some of the more popular ones might come with a very limited set of tools, but in general you're on your own. It's great to see a company who recognizes the existence of moviemaking.
That brings me to the reason for this post. Earlier today, Charlie Cleveland, co-found of Unknown Worlds, did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit. I told him about our plans to use the NS2 engine and he whole-heartedly approved! (Albeit, suggesting we wait for the moviemaking toolset to improve)
I, personally, have been a fan of the Natural Selection series since 2004 and was even a paid constellation member! (That's right, I paid $20 just to have a little elitist icon next to my name. Eat it.) It's nice to have the approval of the person who is responsible for a game you love.

Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 09:50PM Oh good. We have a website now. Here you will find news mostly. I mean if you wanted videos you'd be on our YouTube page, ya know?
Well, here's a video anyway, since it's kind of our thing and all.
